with state-of-the-art production techniques, has resulted in the availability
of superior aggregates with a wide range of applications.
Decorative Red Aggregates
Red
Granite aggregates are the perfect decorative material for driveways,
carparks, pathways and borders. Regional and local authorities have specified
Cloburn red aggregates in many projects nationwide. The inherent strength
of the stone guarantees that our products will withstand both pedestrian
and vehicular traffic.

Red Asphalt
Hard
shoulders, cycle tracks, car parks, footpaths and safety lanes all benefit
from the use of Cloburn red aggregates when incorporated into coated macadams,
hot rolled asphalt and surface dressing applications. Cloburn red aggregate
gives improved visibility and clear demarcation zones, which make a positive
contribution to road safety.
Cloburn Red Granite is the preferred material for central reserves of
motorways and dual-carriageways across the country. The contrast created
between carriageway and reserve enhances safety and is attractive visually.
Examples include local authority, commercial and domestic surfacing
applications.
Exposed Concrete Aggregates
The
excellent properties of Cloburn aggregates make them ideal for the production
of high specification concrete works, and as the exposed aggregate in
concrete blocks and cladding panels. Applications include:
- Terrazzo tiles
- Concrete block paving
- Exposed aggregate in concrete walls and floors
When
only a pigment is used to achieve surface colour, the action of weather,
traffic and sunlight will eventually cause the original colour to fade.
Cloburn Red Granite, however, is completely colour fast. We produce products
that are resistant to the actions of the elements, retaining the original
colour of the product forever.
