One of the most decorative aggregates available, our premium 6mm red granite is a popular choice for gardens as it is an effective way of adding natural colour and contrast to a variety of settings. One glance at our Cloburn red granite aggregate, also known as red chippings, can make a home stand out from the crowd and potentially increase its value when compared to a neighbouring property of a similar standard with run of the mill driveway gravel compared to our world famous Lanark Red granite.
In recent years, Cloburn’s premium red granite stone chippings have enjoyed a surge in popularity as landscaping materials for large scale projects. Our materials are often found at golf courses, world heritage sites such as New Lanark and other well-kept commercial garden venues. One of the attractions of our products is that their colour gets more vibrant as they weather with age. For commercial landscaping, Cloburn Quarry can also supply filter stone, sub-bases and drainage material alongside other construction solutions.
The 6mm granite commonly known as pathway gravel or decorative aggregates is also well-suited to rockery stones as it allows moisture through to the plants it surrounds while reducing the rate of evaporation just as mulch would.
It is also extremely durable as it was formed millions of years ago from molten lava. This has made our granite extremely popular as it lasts a lifetime and allows owners to get on with the rest of their garden without wasting time on upkeep which can be the case with inferior chippings and driveway gravel.

Delivery
Your red granite chips will be delivered to your door by a distribution company. They will be in a bulk bag (approx. 850kgs) and on a pallet. The pallet will be offloaded by a tail-lift and be placed on a hard level surface as close as possible to where you want it.
Standard delivery is 3-5 working days, timed and weekend deliveries are also available.
Bag deliveries are made by kerbside tail lift lorry. Crane or hiab available by request.
All deliveries are made on a tail lift lorry and lowered to the ground. A manual pallet truck is then used to manoeuvre the pallet into position.
Our Couriers deliver between the hours of 8am and 6pm, you can request a telephone call 1 hour before in the special instructions box on the checkout page.
The ground and road need to be flat, level and solid tarmac or concrete to use this system. If you have any doubts please contact us for further details. Broken concrete, gravel or sloping ground is unsuitable and pallets may be left on the roadside only if it’s safe to do so.
The road must be wide enough for a lorry to fit down, usually wider and larger than a dustbin lorry. If your access is restricted, please could contact our office.
Please make sure that there are no overhead obstructions, such as overhanging trees or cables. Also please inform us of any height restrictions on the delivery route as this could prevent delivery.
We cannot deliver onto sloping ground, as the tail lift must be able to lay flat on the ground.
